Doppler Flow Meter Available From EMCO Flow Systems
Longmont, CO - EMCO Flow Systems offers the Sono-Trak Doppler ultrasonic flow meter for measuring fluids containing suspended particles or bubbles, including agricultural water, hazardous wastes, extremely viscous substances, reservoir outflows, raw sewage, paper pulp and slurries.
Ideal for pipe sizes from 2 in. to 100 in., the Sono-Trak Doppler flow meter uses non-invasive, advanced ultrasonic technology to calculate flow velocity. It senses and measures the frequency shift in motion from reflective materials within a liquid. The flow meter uses two transducers mounted side by side, operating as ultrasonic signal transmitters and receivers. The flow meter is obstruction-less, produces no associated pressures drops and provides accuracy ratings of ± 2.0% of full scale from 1 ft/sec to 30 ft/sec and repeatability of ± 0.01% of rate.
The Sono-Trak Doppler flow meter offers a user-friendly, easy-to-program display with on-screen prompting and keyboard entry. The display reads pulse, voltage and analog rates, as well as provides built-in high/low limit alarms, 4-20-mA signals and an echo light to indicate accurate readings. Its digital signal allows for cable lengths up to 5,000 ft, and the flow meter provides noise immunity to variable frequency drives (VFD).
The flow meter is rated for temperatures from -40°F to 300°F and a velocity range of 0.1 ft/sec to 50 ft/sec. Plus, it is virtually maintenance free, with no moving parts to wear over time, and it is available in both fixed and portable units. EMCO Flow Systems, a division of Spirax Sarco, Inc., has provided flow solutions for 40 years with a comprehensive line of insertion vortex, in-line vortex, insertion turbine, ultrasonic doppler, ultrasonic transit time and electromagnetic flow meters for liquid, gas and steam applications.
